Elvis Presley was born on January 8th, 1935. 

He was called “the king of Rock and Roll” in the United States! 

Elvis was born in the state called Mississippi, but he moved to Memphis, Tennessee when he was 13 years old. 

He started to make music in 1954 with his friends, Scotty who played the guitar and Bill who played the bass. 

Elvis became very famous, his most popular songs were “Hound Dog” and “Blue Suede Shoes”. He was also a great dancer! He performed all around the United States during the 1950’s and 1960’s.

In 1965, Elvis even met another group of very famous musicians, The Beatles! 

In 1967, Elvis married Priscilla Wagner and she became Priscilla Presley. 

Together, they had one child who is named Lisa Presley. 

Elvis Presley died in 1977, he was 42 years old. He was so famous that 80,000 people came to his funeral.

Elvis changed American music forever. Today, people still sing his songs!
