The Infinity Saga is the name given to the storyline created by the twenty-three films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

They all focus on the the Infinity Stones, a collection of six powerful objects, each controlling a different aspect of the universe. 

The first antagonist of the saga is Thanos, the extraterrestrial leader, who wantsl to collect all the stones and use them to exterminate half of the universe's inhabitants, because he believes the universe will be destroyed by overpopulation.

He is opposed by a team of superheroes known as the Avengers.
