Cricket

It is the British national sport. You can play it with a ball and bats. There are 2 teams of 11 players. You must score points! It is a very famous Sunday sport.

 

Football

Football is the United Kingdom most famous sport. In America, it’s called “Soccer” because their football is American Football. The very famous teams are Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. Players can’t take the ball in their hands. 

 

American Football

It is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players in The United States and in Canada. There is a lot of contact between the players so they must wear a special equipement : a helmet to protect their head, shoulder pads, knee pads, chest protectors and mouthguards. It is a tough sport!

 

 

 

 

Rugby

Rugby is a very famous British sport too. Rugby players can catch the ball with their hands. 

France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Italy play the 6 nations tournament. 

 

Tennis

English kids can also play tennis. They have a very famous tournament: Wimbledon. It is in June every year because it is not raining in England! They play on grass. People can watch the matches on TV.
