Charles III was born on the 14th of  November, 1948 in Buckingham Palace.

His parents were Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

His grandfather was King George VI. He died when Prince Charles was 3 years old, and his mother became Queen Elizabeth II.

He was educated in very famous schools but wasn't always very happy there: he missed his parents very much.

At the age of 21, he was crowned Prince of Wales on the 1st of July 1969, by his mother in a televised ceremony.

Charles served in the Air Force and Navy from 1971 to 1976.

He first married Princess Diana in July 1981 and they had 2 sons together: William, who was born in 1982 and Harry who was born 2 years later.

Unfortunately, the couple started quarelling very quickly and had affairs with other people.

They separated around 1992 and finally divorced in August 1996. Less than a year later, Diana died in a terrible car crash in Paris.

Many people around the world hated Prince Charles for Diana's death because they loved her very much: she was called the Queen of hearts.

In 2005, Queen Elizabeth accepted Prince Charles to marry the woman he loved: Camilla Parker-Bowles.

In fact, she has been the love of his life since the 1970s and his lover when he was still married to Diana.

During his time as Prince of Wales, Charles went on official duties for the Queen: many engagements, investitures, state visits, tours of Commonwealth countries, funerals...

He was learning to become a King even if his popularity was never very high. A lot of English people wanted him to renounce the throne in favour of his son, William.

Today, he is the King of the United Kingdom and the 14 other Commonwealth realms.

His coronation ceremony will be on May 6th 2023.
