Prétérit Simple et Prétérit en ING

On utilise le Prétérit, ou Simple Past en anglais, pour parler d'une action passée, datée, terminée.

 

On utilise l’auxiliaire DID aux formes négatives et interrogatives.

 

He watched TV on Monday evening.

They didn't play hockey last weekend.

Irregular verbs

 

 

Le Prétérit en Be + V- ING ou ING Past sert à parler de ce qui était en train de se passer à un moment du passé.

Il donne le cadre d'une action passée : j'étais en train de faire quelque chose quand ceci est arrivé.

 

Il se compose de BE au passé suivi d’un verbe en ING tout comme le Présent en Be + V- ING.
