Listen to Kelly's job interview

The recruiter welcomed Kelly at Hip-Hop Magazine. She offered her to enter and to take a seat.

Kelly thanked her wishing her a good afternoon. 

The recruiter wanted Kelly to tell her about herself.

Kelly Thomas explained she was 16 years old and that she was really interested in journalism. 

She added that when she saw their ad looking for a part-time junior journalist, she immediately decided to apply for the job!

The recruiter wondered if she wasn’t a bit young to be coming for an interview.

Kelly answered (that) she thought the best person to write articles for teenagers was a teenager! And that was the reason she was there!

The recruiter exclaimed (that) she was impressed by her self-insurance! 

Then, she asked Kelly to explain how she had developed her interest in journalism.

She declared it/that was quite easy. Since she had been very young, she had been interested in reading magazines. She used to drive her mother crazy because she loved cutting out some articles even before she had read them!

The recruiter asked her what else she was interested in.

Kelly replied she had a real passion for music: she had been practicing the piano for 8 years, that she listened to R n’ B, Rap and of course Hip-Hop! She added that she went to the movies every week and that she had been acting in her school club since she was 10. As for sports, she said she was quite good at tennis. She had been playing for more than 10 years because her uncle owns a tennis club.

The recruiter exclaimed that it was perfect and that she could see Kelly was really active. 

She decided to go back to journalism and asked Kelly if she had already written an article of any sort. She guessed the young candidate hadn’t yet!

But Kelly announced she had already written hundreds of them because she had been an editor for the school magazine for 3 years.

Finally, the recruiter inquired if she had ever interviewed a celebrity.

Kelly proudly claimed that she had just met Lil Baby in the lift and that she had asked him loads of questions he had been pleased to answer.

The recruiter couldn’t believe her ears and questioned when Kelly could start because she was just the person they were looking for!
