When the Hogwarts Express arrives, Hagrid is welcoming the 1st years.

The pupils must get off the train and hurry.

Ron and Harry are following Hagrid to the boats to reach Hogwarts.

They are very impressed  by Hogwarts because it is a beautiful castle. 

They are amazed by this school.

Inside the school, Professor McGonagall is explaining them how they will be sorted into their houses.

They mustn’t break rules because their houses will lose points. 

Neville Longbottom has got a toad called Scabbers.

Draco Malfoy is presenting himself to Harry and his friends.

Ron is laughing at his name!

”You must be a Weasley because you have red hair!”

Draco wants Harry to become his friend but Harry refuses to shake his hand.

Ligne 2, MUST est un modal (comme CAN) qui exprime une obligation.

3. What must the pupils do when they arrive?

4. After the train, what must the pupils take to go to school?

5. Describe Hogwarts. How are the pupils?

6. Who is the first teacher they meet?

7. What is she doing?

Ligne 6, il y a un nouveau modal ”WILL” qui sert à exprimer le futur.

8. Traduis les lignes 6 et 7.

Ligne 8, la forme négative de MUST est MUSTN’T (contraction de Must et Not) et exprime l’interdiction. 

9. Que se passe-t-il si les élèves ne respectent pas les règles ? Réponds en français.
